Naming Ceremonies
A naming ceremony is a beautiful way to honour a new life. It may be the celebration of a new baby, or a young child; or it could be acknowledging and recognising a new identity. It’s a wonderful way for family and friends to come together to show their love and support.
There is no age limit on a naming ceremony - and you can have a joint ceremony for a few siblings, cousins or close friends.
Joyful and Memorable
There are so many wonderful ways to celebrate a new or young life, and each ceremony I create will be tailored to the people involved.
You might want to have a big party, or something more intimate, but either way we can make it a truly special and memorable occasion.
Godparents (or Guideparents) can be included, as can other members of the family, allowing them to give promises to support and nurture a person throughout their future life.
You could have a tree planting ceremony, a candle ceremony, present flowers, or create a special treasure box -there are a host of ways to mark the occasion.
I also have lots of experience working with young children as a storyteller and workshop facilitator, so if there are going to be lots of children present, I am always happy to include activities that keep them engaged and get them involved.
Adoption Welcoming
Welcoming a child into your family is an important milestone - so - when the time is right - why not celebrate this new chapter in all your lives. Adoption can be such a lengthy process and can be very testing at times. That journey and commitment deserves to be recognised and a ceremony can be a joyful recognition of the journey you have made and the birth of a new family.
